Sensor Calibration

Sensor Calibration

The higher the performance provided by your UV and Ozone system, the more cost efficiently and secure it is running. However, it is a comparatively small component with of even more importance - the sensor.

Full performance, improved safety - Sensor calibration

While the system is running, the UV sensor serves as a sentinel for the UV lamp. It constantly measures and checks the intensity of the UV beams provided by the lamp and so ensures that the entire system continues to work properly.

Internationally recognised certification authorities such as the DVGW, öVGW, SVGW and EPA have recognised just how important the UV sensor is. Next to the component validation they recommend regular reference point measurements, and in countries such as Germany, Austria and Switzerland it is mandatory.

The UV sensor does not have to be calibrated for safety reasons alone. Natural wear-and-tear - for example, of the photo cell in the sensor - prevent optimum performance from being achieved. Sensors that are checked and maintained regularly help you to keep your UV system running within ideal energy use limits.

The measurement of the UV sensors does not take up much time and can be carried out easily within your facility on-site. Do you have any further questions on the subject of original replacement parts or sensor calibration? Simply get in touch with your Xylem support team or use the contact center.
